Couples Healing & Marriage Counselling
You and partner are caught in endless patterns of conflict, you are struggling to connect, or feel like you've lost what you once shared. Perhaps you feel lonely, or have been betrayed and don't how to build safety and trust. Couples counselling can be a very effective way to learn about yourself and your partner in the context of your relationship. You and your partner can gain insight and understanding into the unhelpful patterns you have found yourselves in and how to change them, working together, instead of against each other. As a trained Gottman Level II therapist I draw upon clinical research and related tools that have been proven effective in treatment for relationship issues. This often starts with a thorough assessment of your relationship and identifying areas of strength and challenge through the use of targeted interviews and a confidential online questionnaire. This will uncover the most effective treatment plan for you and your partner, saving you time and confusion trying to figure how to move forward. Whether you are just starting out life with each other, have been together for decades, or anywhere in between, the right couples counselling may be just what you need!

Accelerated Resolution Therapy for Trauma
You feel held back and stuck by the intrusive thoughts and feelings connected to recent or past painful experiences. You avoid people, places or activities that remind you of what happened. You feel on edge and anxious, you are hypervigilant and struggle regulating your emotions. Perhaps you have tried other forms of talk therapy for trauma with little success. A.R.T was developed in 2008, as a type of therapy that combines principles from different traditional evidence based psychotherapies. Using relaxing eye movements, and a process of voluntary image replacement, you can change the relationship you have with distressing thoughts and memories by changing how your brain stores them. Unlike other forms of trauma therapy, you can share as little or as much detail of your difficult experiences as you like. Often in as few as 1-5 sessions you can get unstuck and move toward growth and change in ways you may have not imagined!
